Invitation to Participate in a Paid Consensus-Building Study
Hello,
You are invited to participate in an online research study held by researchers at the Texas A&M
University in College Station. The goal of this research is to obtain your feedback on a privacy
statement that will accompany software being developed by researchers at Texas A&M
University. The software is being designed to enhance privacy in studies that link data about
people from different sources. The aim is for the privacy statement to reflect patient voice.
Participants will be individuals that are 18 years of age or older, speak English, and have 3 or
more interactions with a physician each year for a chronic condition.
If you participate:
- You will learn how data is used and protected in research.
- You will participate in a 3-round online survey in which you will respond to statements
about privacy and database research. These statements will be incorporated into one
document.
- In the last round, you will vote on how much you like the whole document that was
finalized based on your input. The document will be recommended for use by
researchers doing database studies to reflect patient voice.
Each round is expected to take approximately 2-3 hours. Participants will be compensated $100
total -- $20 after completing the first round, $30 after completing the second round, and $50
after completing the third round.
